Ferries to ZadarPort connections and services

The port of Zadar overlooks the Adriatic Sea and lies on the Dalmatian peninsula. The port area is organized into two areas, the new one located in the Gazenica area 3 km from the city center, from where ferries to Italy depart. The old one can also be reached on foot from the town center, located along Liburnska Obala; fast ferries for domestic routes depart from there.

Near Zadar's new ferry port is the famous Sea Organ, a unique creation that gathers millions of visitors each year, consisting of steps and reeds positioned parallel to the seashore, creates magical moments, especially at sunset.

Ferries passing through the port of Zadar keep the international route to Ancona active. Thanks to the shipping company Jadrolinija the connections for the Ancona Zadar route and vice versa operate 5 times a week with a sailing time of around 6 hours.

The docking area has as many as 12 berths dedicated to ferries to Zadar that accommodate more than 3 million transit passengers annually.

The port of Zadar has an important significance for national and international transit of ships and passengers.

The area of the Zadar ferry terminal is located close to the town center and allows passengers to take advantage of all services such as markets, newsstands, eateries, cab, and bus station. Car and scooter rentals are available near the ferry embarkations for those arriving at the port without a vehicle. Traffic management on the port is made possible by its ample parking spaces.

Zadar ferries About Zadar

The city of Zadar is divided into two zones, the old town includes the port and a large part of the surrounding bay and in the northern part you will find the tourist area of the city.

Not to be missed will be the fruit and vegetable market and the adjacent fish market that you can find in the center of the city, along with the main tourist attractions of Zadar such as the Plitvice Lakes National Park or the Krka Waterfalls Park.

Among Zadar's top attractions, you will definitely find the Sea Organ, a structure that you can also see from the sea because of its staircase-like shape that descends into the water and the organ pipes all of different sizes that produce random melodies. The Greeting to the Sun is a structure made up of 300 mirrors that form a 22-meter circle, underneath they have photovoltaic panels programmed to turn on at sunset and produce plays of light.

Not to be missed is the Museum of Old Glass, everyone should visit it! It collects lots of glass artifacts, some dating back to the first century.

If you are a lover of architecture or history then you cannot miss the Church of St. Donatus, which has now become the symbol of Zadar and the pride of the citizens. The church has a Byzantine style. The Roman Forum, located in the heart of the old city is another historical attraction worth seeing.
