Ferries to Ischia: ferries and hydrofoils available on Traghettilines!
The isle of Ischia is the largest island in the Gulf of Naples, and it is one among the biggest tourist destination in the Mediterranean Sea. Enchanting shores, quaint cliffs, crystal clear water, natural sources and spa centres are just some of the typical features that will let any tourist enjoy this destination of pure relax.
The 5 Ferry Companies which connect the island to the mainland run every day, and schedule numerous sailings between the island and the harbours on the Campanian cost. Hydrofoils are also available: they not only link Ischia to the mainland, but also to the near islands of Capri and Procida.
Ferries to Ischia: sailing and travel time
During summer, sailings to Ischia are equally performed by hydrofoils and ferries, running approximately each 30 minutes all day long. The crucial differences between a hydrofoil and a ferry are basically two: hydrofoils take less time (around 1 hour) to to reach the destination, ferries can carry vehicles.
Hydrofoils, faster and smaller, are identically practical and functional to ferries. They get to Ischia in just one hour of sailing, and they provide a pleasant navigation for their comfortable air seats and air conditioned rooms. Not having a garage, they cannot carry vehicles.
Ferries, on the other hand, can carry both passengers and vehicles, and they just take a little longer to reach the island (around 1 hour and a half of sailing). On board, passengers travelling in deck accommodation, may have access to the public areas and on-board services, just like bar-cafeteria, salon, or even enjoy the landscape from the weather deck.
