One of the most impressive sights is the Monastery of Nea Moni a Unesco World Heritage Site. Inside you will find beautiful mosaics similar to those in Venice. Another unique feature of the island are the mastic trees, the resin of which is used in cooking and even as a healing remedy .
Spend a day by the sea and you will be spoilt for choice! You will not find sandy beaches, but what Chios offers you is originality:
Wild, colourful beaches for the adventurous, or for those who love solitude and want to immerse themselves in nature!

➔ The archipelago of Inousses is located near the Turkish coast and Chios, the only inhabited island is Oinoussa, then you can also explore the other smaller islands such as: Vatos, Avloni, Archontoniso, Panaya and Potikoniso. In the old town you will find the old Naval Academy and the famous Maritime Museum, where you can see Glykas' wonderful paintings and models of ships used during the Napoleonic period. 

With an easy walk, you can reach all the beaches, both sandy and pebbly, all surrounded by lush vegetation. The most visited by tourists are Zepaga a beach of both sand and pebbles, Farkeru that can be reached on foot by taking a short path through the forest.

HERE IS A TIP: if you want the cheapest tickets on the market, ideally you should look for them months in advance so as not to fall into the trap of the high season when prices soar!
