When you're traveling to and from La Gomera you will likely stop in Playa de Santiago, a town in the far south of the island, part of the municipality of Alajeró and the province of SC de Tenerife. This is one of the wildest islands of the beautiful Canary Islands, which offer a variety of breathtaking landscapes that attract millions of tourists every year with its unspoiled and wild nature hosts beautiful sand dunes, lush vegetation, rugged cliffs, endless beaches and a marine environment rich in local flora and fauna.

Playa de Santiago, is one of the most important tourist centers on the island, located in Alajerò in the south of the island. The town is divided into two different urban centers: Lomada de Tecina and Laguna de Santiago, where most of the hotels are concentrated, stretches alongside a fishing village.

The small harbour is connected to the port of Valle Gran Rey, which has some of La Gomera's most famous beaches: fine black sandy shores lapped by azure waters. Some perfect for diving like Puntilla beach and others more suitable for surfing like Charco beach.

Morro Playa de Santiago Playa de Santiago

Playa de Santiago, although an exclusively tourist resort, is far removed from the hustle and bustle of the Canary Islands' most popular destinations. It is a small, cozy town, where there is a relaxed atmosphere, a mild, sunny climate year-round, and allows all services to be close at hand.

The beach that gives the town its name is one of the largest in La Gomera. Bathed by calm waters, it is one of the largest beaches on La Gomera. Due to the clarity of its waters and the variety of its seabed, Playa Santiago is renowned for diving and water sports such as snorkeling and kayaking.
