The port of Cesenatico is located in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in the region of Emilia-Romagna. It is a “canal port,” where fishing boats, private boats and hydrofoils arrive. The city center is directly on the harbor, and the port area is home to the famous “Cesenatico Maritime Museum.”

Cesenatico is a seaside town, famous for its bathing establishments throughout Europe. The canal port is very atmospheric and all around are small restaurants, bars and wine bars where especially in summer you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets overlooking the canal. Originally a fishing port, it became an important seaside resort with a marina.

The canal port is also known as Porto Leonardesco is one of Cesenatico's main attractions. It was named after the person who designed it in 1502 that is Leonardo Da Vinci.

The port consists of two shores, one right where you will find restaurants, boutiques, and the 19th-century Pescheria where you will find freshly caught fish. On the left side, on the other hand, you will find plenty of restaurants and cocktail bars.

You can visit Moretti's House Museum, where you will find everyday objects and his original writings by one of the great protagonists of the 20th century, or the Maritime Museum and stop to buy typical products at the Vecchia Pescheria, always fresh fish at km 0.

The port stretches from the sea to inland to branch off into smaller canals called 'veins,' you can walk the length of the canal port and see, for example, the monument dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi, and at the end of the route you will also find the 'Brides of the Sailors' monument that overlooks the very sea.

A full calendar of events makes Cesenatico a popular destination during the summer. You can choose from themed evenings with wine tasting, the famous Sunrise Concerts, open-air theater, and local markets.

You cannot leave Cesenatico without tasting a good plate of Adriatic blue fish at one of the many restaurants in the harbor or buying a typical hand-printed cloth from local artisans.
