Welcome to Palermo, one of the most great Sicilian location!

Unmissable is the Capella Palatina, built in 1130, a small masterpiece hidden away inside the Royal Palace. Instead the “Quattro Canti” is outdoor. Commissioned by the Spanish Viceroy in 1611, it features the sculptures on each of the four corners with the four seasons, the four Spanish kings and the four patron saints of the old town.

Piazza Pretoria offers the legendary “Fountain of Shame” and the City Hall. The fountain was built in 1555 and shows sixteen naked statues of human bodies, nymphs, mermaids and satyrs.
Behind the City Hall, there is another square, Piazza Bellini, with the Church of Santa Maria dell’Ammiraglio (called also “La Martorana”) and the adjacent, very small Church of San Cataldo, built in 1154, with its three red domes. The wonderful bell tower is the best of the Norman-Arab architecture period.
